IE University is a private university, officially recognized by the Spanish educational authorities. Created under Ley 4/1997, de 24 de abril de 1997, de la Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla y León (B.O.E.  nº 156, de 1 de julio de 1997) and since 2006 has been under the direction of Instituto de Empresa*. The University is ruled by the Ley Orgánica 6/2001 de Universidades, la Ley 3/2003 de Universidades de Castilla y León, the Ley 3/2003 de Universidades de Castilla y León and by its own Normas de Organización y Funcionamiento (B.O.CyL  nº 240, de 16 de diciembre de 2009).

IE University awards official graduate and postgraduate (Masters and Doctorate) titles, which are officially approved and recognized by the Spanish Government and accredited by the National Registry of Universities, Centers and Titles of the Ministry of Education, having their Study Plans adapted to the European Higher Education Area (the Bologna Process).

 

 

*The title of Ley 4/1997 is modified by the enforcement of the amendmentLey 13/2008, del 9 de diciembre, which changes the domain Ley 4/1997, de 24 de abril, por la que se reconoce como universidad privada a la Universidad S.E.K., con sede en Segovia a ser Ley 4/1997, de 24 de abril, por la que se reconoce como universidad privada a la IE Universidad, con sede en Segovia.
